(Born in Watford, UK, 25 Oct.1968) Simon Ferdinand is the Head of Market Development for ELT Assessment and in charge of launching the Oxford Test of English worldwide at Oxford University Press in Madrid, Spain. He has 26-year experience in the field of English Language Teaching. He worked as an English and French teacher at a language school in Madrid, then worked as a sales representative and product manager with Oxford University Press working on English File and exams materials. He then spent two years as a Sales Manager for Cambridge English exams and he has been involved in the development and promotion of a range of language tests, again at OUP for the last eight years. Simon speaks six languages fluently and he is also the author of ‘Cómo negociar en inglés’ (How to Negotiate in English) which was published in Madrid in 2006 and has sold 27,000 copies.
